Ted K Center Summer Camp

The Summer Camp was recently featured on WCAX 6 o’clock news!

The Plattsburgh Housing Authority’s Ted K. Center is excited to announce the 1st Annual Ted K. Center Summer Camp for the children of the Plattsburgh Housing Authority. The camp is being offered through collaboration with the Turner Board (Camp Tapawingo) and with funding from the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center and program offerings from the Cornell Cooperative Extension. The Ted K. Center would also like to thank the Clinton County Youth Bureau, United Way of the Adirondack Region and Kiwanis Breakfast Club Plattsburgh for their continued contributions that allow programs to grow and continuously enrich experiences for our youth.

The 1st Annual Ted K. Center Summer Camp will provide the Plattsburgh Housing Authority youth an opportunity to leave the confines of the City of Plattsburgh and spend time in nature on the shores of Lake Champlain. There will be two weeks for varying age groups. The first week of camp will be from August 4th – August 8th for children aged 5-8. The second week of camp for children aged 9-14 will be from August 11th – August 15th. Both weeks will have the children arriving at camp around 9 a.m. and returning around 4 p.m. The campers at the 1st Annual Ted K. Center Summer Camp will enjoy nutritional education from Cornell Cooperative Extension, a variety of arts and crafts, and team building recreational games.

The Plattsburgh Housing Authority and the Ted K. Center would like to thank Colleen Lemza, Diane Chanowsky, Amy Peck, Plattsburgh City School District, Foundation of CVPH Medical Center, Clinton County Youth Bureau, United Way of the Adirondack Region, Kiwanis Breakfast Club Plattsburgh, Cornell Cooperative Extension Clinton County, and the Clinton County Health Department for their assistance and efforts in providing this opportunity for our youth.
