Happy April, all.
As of today neither NYS nor HUD has made any changes to public housing authorities and rent collection. Rent is still due. We understand that for some, it may be a hardship. We are doing what we can within the regulations to help. Those measures include the following:
1. Notifying us immediately of any income change (job loss, hours reduced, etc.) will allow us to lower your rent. We are working during this crisis to make these changes as fast as possible. Please, notify us immediately.
2. We have suspended late fees.
We’ve also made some additional changes to our office to help keep our staff and our residents healthy and safe.
The office window near the drop-box will be the location that residents will use for rent payment. Residents will not enter the office building. Please be prepared and dress appropriately based on the weather. You will notice a sign on a post that shows where the line should begin. Please keep approximately 6 ft. between yourselves in line.
Remember we have reduced office hours. The hours are as follows:
Wed., 4/1 9 am – 12:30 pm
Thurs., 4/2 12:30 pm – 3 pm
Fri., 4/3 9 am – 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm – 3 pm
Mon. 4/6 9 am – 12:30 pm
If possible and paying with a check or money order, please use the drop-box and we will mail a receipt to your household. Limiting contact is the best thing we can do at this time.
Finally, if you have any food or supply needs, we have created a hotline. Please call 518-561-0720 ext. 239 and leave your name, apartment and tell us what you need.
Stay safe and healthy. Practice all the necessary requirements. We will do our best to keep you updated!
